I am having troubles netbooting a powerpc machine with dapper (LTS).
I am using ubuntu's netboot:
http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/dapper/main/installer-powerpc/current/images/powerpc/netboot/
in my tftp server root. I see that my client is accessing the vmlinux
file provided. When I netboot I get
"
VFS: Cannot open root device "<NULL>" or unknown-block(0,1)
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
"
If I netboot yaboot I get:
"
Invalid memory access at <various numbers>
"
Then it continues on to an open firmware prompt with the options to
"mac-boot" or "shut-down"
I have looked online for a couple days now and tried several different
things and am finally coming to the local experts.
