If you're willing to experiment with Qemu knowing that you might mess 
everything up and have to reinstall everything - then go for it.  But if 
not, or you don't have the luxury of downtime, then with your limited 
amount of RAM, play the safer bet and go for a much simpler dual boot 
configuration.  There is lots of documentation on how to do a dual 
boot.  ps. writing this from Gutsy on a MacBook.
