how to get wireless support

Here are a few things I found.. worth a shot.
According to ndiswrapper website your chipset may work with this driver:
ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/notebook/travelmate_2310/driver/802bg.zip
and a build of ndiswrapper 1.41. You might check what version you're
running and if you need help compiling a later version let me know.
(drivers are *very* particular. I've often tried 5-6 before finding the
perfect match).
At least while you're trying to get it to work I would disable your WPA.
It's just another layer of potential troubleshooting. Once you get it
working you can try adding the WPA, but lets not make things more
difficult than we need to :)
Good luck.
(quick recap)
you'll want to:
sudo ndiswrapper -e <current driver>
sudo modprobe -r ndiswrapper
sudo ndiswrapper -i new-driver
sudo ndiswrapper -l (fingers crossed)
sudo modprobe ndiswrapper
...I've got more of an overview here for wireless on my macbook. Just
change to your driver:
