Login problems after upgrade to Edgy

If you can't quickly identify the problem with some of the suggestions
put forward here, I would simply reinstall (also make sure you have
enough disk space). If you are reinstalling, you might want to
consider installing Feisty (Hurd #4) - though still in beta, I've found
it to be more stable than Edgy (plus new features).
