how to get wireless support

Hey guys,
I still have no luck with my wireless.  Posted on the forums and no one 
was able to help.  I have an Atheros AR5005G wireless adapter in my Acer 
Aspire 5100.  I tried using NDISwrapper and got no where.  It works in 
SimplyMepis so I am going to use that for the time being. 
Is there anything I can do to get my wireless chipset supported in 
future releases?  I know wireless is a pain in linux, and looking at the 
forums it seems like most are having issues, but I would like to do what 
I can to help.
