Hi Kenneth I am running Linux Mint (based on Ubuntu) on 2 different laptops, one of which is a Lenovo G555. My HP is dual booted with both Mint & Window7. My house-mate has the exact same Lenovo and only runs Window7 that came on it. Ever since she started using it she had major problems big time with scroll problems as you described and also the mouse pointer jumping all over. We each also have a Logitech M505 laser mouse. I also have a bluetooth mouse and a wired USB mouse which I could use for a control in determining the problem. I never notice the problem on my HP because I always turned off the touchpad. I discovered the problem when we got our Lenovo's because I didn't know you could turn off the touchpad. (Dah read the manual stupid.) After doing an exhaustive search of different forums and websites looking for answers, one person suggested that it might be a conflict between a mouse and the touch pad. I tested his theory with both my laptops using all 3 mice I have. The problem did not appear to occur with the wired mouse but only the wireless mice. On top of that the problem also occurred using both wireless mice on both laptops and in both Linux and Windows7. The problem stopped for both me and my house-mate when we turned off either the touch-pad or turned off the wireless mouse. We couldn't run both at the same time. Conclusion: There must be a conflict between either the software drivers or the hardware itself of the touch-pad and wireless mice. I lean toward it being a hardware conflict since it occurred exactly the same in both Linux and Windows7 unless they shared the same driver code on both platforms. You have to set 'SHMConfig' 'true' in xorg.conf or XF86Config to use GSynaptics I went through trying to fix that, but I couldn't get it done. I really don't know where to go.
