Hey, My name is Adam. i'm located in Belton, and I vote for a central texas team. with inner, more local team meetings based upon where you're located. it's all fine to me. I don't mind traveling to do this, just as long as long trips are kept less frequent than the trips that are far away.

Hello, My name is Lucy I was at the Arlington meeting Dec, 5th
at The Coffee Haus Downtown, I believe the meeting was very informative
and even though, I had a " No Comment " opinion .
I did take notes and I did listen I observed the attendees and the body
language of those around me .
I was surprised at the attendance once we got started the crowd did
increase from 7 to 13 even the audience from the other side became
involved ( audio feed ) were listening in to those who had questions,
ideas, opinions, feedback, there focus was all on getting more answers
with bugs, and troubleshooting, more of, like a person to person
response.
Daniel Stone did good with having to speak about " How to adjust from
coming out of Windows to Ubuntu " The crowd was a mixture of new users
and experience users so this was to get info from both sides .
I don't believe that when you get a group together it is not solely
focused on " Resolving " it's more on 'Ideas to make it work " as a
story line " To be continued " in our next meeting .
It doesn't matter if your in a Dallas Team or not if your " Texan " your
Texan.
It pertains to everyone in general if you attended the Arlington and not
the Dallas meetings DOES not make you a jerk.
I believe no matter where you live all subjects pertain to one issue
it's Ubuntu/Linux if you have a problem report it to the right page and
results come at you from numerous sources and members who have
experience the problem already.
As some people you can make a call to others to get an answer is really
an idea to consider.
To have a live person to walk you through the steps is a good thing.
I want to say, My first Ubuntu meeting with other users was a great
experience for me and listening to others gave me an insight to what
these meeting can do for you instead of just going into chat .
There is no " I " in team but there is a " U " Ubuntu so let's make it
work for new and old a like.
We are all here to Learn " What can Ubuntu do for you? "
Thank you
LucyAnnRuiz
In regards to Central Texas Team

I believe that this was discussed in the forum

The argument is not if it wants to form but if meetings would happen
only in one city.

Blum / Central Texas

I vote for Central Texas if the intent is to have meetings throughout
centex area. If the aim is to keep the meetings in Killeen I would have
to say no keep it killeen because that one city does not reflect the area.

Wow, just realized this was never posted here.

The meeting log from Dec 6th can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/TexasTeam/ToolBox/Updates/2009-12-06 .

On one hand I feel we didn't get much done, on the other hand we did
actually get quite a bit done.

1. Discussion on Information spreading (agreed that mailing list is the
de facto way to communicate for statewide affairs).
2. Discussion on CenTex/Killeen Team. I think CenTex is pretty much a go.
3. Next meeting is Jan 3rd.

We will want to work on keeping discussion on track, but a lot of that is
taken care of now that the hot topics are settled.

feel free to nominate topics for January 3rd here
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/TexasTeam/ToolBox/Updates/2010-01-03

To schedule other events feel free to use
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/TexasTeam/ToolBox/Updates . This Calendar should
really only be used for state wide things, I will set up a template so that
other states can easily make their own Calendar system for planning their
regional events (they obviously don't have to use this, I'm just making for
those that want tit).
