LibreOffice Draw or Inkscape

I am creating simple graphs for an economics class.  I can use Draw or
Inkscape.  Thanks to help from this group I can export the graphs to svg or
gif file formats.  I can draw x and y axis and add demand and supply
lines.

How do I add and label a point on the graph?  Also, how do I select the
entire image and adjust the size, both drawing and text, so it fits where I
want it on the page?

I found tutorials that tell you how to elaborate images with lots of color
but nothing that tells you how to do simple graphs.
