Firefox Version

A website I am trying to use tells me I have an unsupported web browser.  I
need Firefox 1.5 or higher.  When I look at About Mozilla Firefox on my
system it says I have Firefox version 3.6.10.  It also says:
Mozilla Firefox for Ubuntu canonical - 1.0

Is my Firefox really 1.0?  If so, what does the 3.6.10 mean?  How do I get
1.5 or higher?
