Organizing travel buddies

I want to go badly to this texas linux fest badly but it's going to be hard
to go when the gas is high and it's hours away. It would be more efficient
and fun to meet up with some of our ubuntu-us-tx friends and ride together.
Who thinks making a car pool is a good idea?
