> Hi,

My name is Derek. I am IT manager at a small non-profit in
Nashville, TN. We use Ubuntu Server 6.10 as a LAMP server. We also
use FREENAS/BSD for file storage. The predominant OS is Windows
Server 2003 using Terminal Server 2003. Our voicemail is a QNX-based
system. My desktop is Feisty and i use Rdesktop to connect to
various servers and desktops.

At home, we use Freevo as a home media PC and a Lumenlab eVo to
project that ;) Of course, I run an Ubuntu server at home (6.10)
setup with RoR and LAMP w/ FCGI.

I'd love to see non-profits and educational institution move towards
an all open-source and GNU-based architecture. We need more
institutions willing to contribute to this and be willing to push
financial and developmental resources towards developing software
geared towards non-profits. I hate paying Blackbaud thousands of
dollars a year for nonprofit fundraising software that is bloated and
over-rated.

derek
