Hi, Robert:

Congratulations on setting up Ubuntu, and welcome to the list!  Yes, Samba
will allow your windows machines to see files shared from your Ubuntu
machine.  You can find more about setting up Samba in Ubuntu at the Ubuntu

And if you run into any snags, I'd bet some of us here on the list could
help you.

It looks like you're in Rapid City -- you might have a look at bhlug.org.
You may be able to find some local geeks who could give you a hand too.
