Team projects

Hello, everyone:

Thanks to everybody who has joined this team over the past several weeks.
It's great to see so much interest in Ubuntu here in South Dakota!  Here are
a few things I've thought of for us to do as a LoCo team:

Gutsy release parties
The next Ubuntu release, version 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon, is due to be released on
Thursday October 18.  It would be great if we could organize a release party
or parties throughout the state.  I've started a thread on
southdakota.ubuntuforums.org where we can hammer out the details.  Please
give the thread a look and let us know what you'd like to do.

CD distribution
It would be great to have some Ubuntu CDs available to our communities -- in
coffee shops, public libraries, universities, etc.  I've started another
thread here where you can voice your ideas on how to get more CDs into the
hands of potential Ubuntu users.

Install fests + LUG partnerships
One of the best things we can do as a local community team is organize
Ubuntu install fests in our communities, and to make sure Ubuntu is
available at other install fests.  I think this is something that is best
accomplished by working with local lugs.  I've started yet another thread on
the forum for LUG partnership projects where we can organize install fests.
