Dear South Carolina LoCo Team,
My name is Chris Crisafulli and I am a member of the Ubuntu LoCo
Council. I would like to try and help get things going with the South
Carolina LoCo Team. I read the meeting logs
(http://irclogs.ubuntu.com/2011/10/27/%23ubuntu-us-sc.html) from last
October and it seemed like things were beginning to move.
I was recently contacted by Jon R. (Weudul in irc) and he has expressed
an interest in really wanting to help the team move forward. I told him
that normally I would join the mailing list and the team channel and
send an e-mail to the team contact (which I did on March 8), to see if
there is a way that I can provide any assistance in getting the team
back on track.
I first met Jon during both South East Linux Fest events (2010 & 2011),
we had discussed ideas on how to get things rekindled with the South
Carolina Team. I made the drive up from Florida, and was asked if I
wouldn't mind staffing a booth to represent the SC Team in 2010, and was
again asked to help lead the Ubucon in 2011 where myself and others gave
presentations. I am not saying this in a complaining manner, I just
wanted to let you know that I really cared about your team and was
trying to help however I could. It was refreshing to read the logs and
hear that people were interested in getting things moving within the
South Carolina LoCo team.
I would like to see if anyone has any solid objections to me requesting
that Weudul get added to the team (he is one of the ones stuck as
proposed) and giving him administrative rights to the team. He will then
add the other members that are still currently in Limbo.
Thanks for your time,
Chris Crisafulli
