ApacheCon (http://na.apachecon.com/) is coming up here in Portland
February 26th - 28th. To honor our city and its programmers, the
conference organizers have made a special discount rate for us. Anyone
registering with promo code PDXGROUPS will receive a 25% discount on
tutorials. Some of the awesome half-day tutorials available are:

* Apache httpd Basics
* Crash Course on Web Services Security
* A Beginner's Guide to Apache CouchDB
* Getting Started with Apache Flex
* Working with Apache Cocoon

And there are many more. This is a great opportunity to increase your
skills + knowledge about server-side development with Apache. Since
it's in Portland, it's also a really great deal for us Portlanders who
don't have to pay for a hotel.

If you can't make the conference, there are also some free and open
events happening:

* Barcamp on 2/24
* Apache Hackathon on 2/25

You don't need to register for the conference to take part in those -
Portland community members are welcome to come along, meet Apache
project members and try to find points of common interest. (If
software fails one might try beer).

Feel free to pass on the 25% discount rate to any other Portland locals!
