[Ubuntu-us-ok] mounting devices question

Hi David,
I was looking for a utility that will watch udisks (or udisks2) for
devices that are plugged in (or inserted for optical media).
And then offer the user the ability to mount it or eject it. Not at
boot like editing fstab or whatever, but on the fly.

I came across a python program called udiskie, and wrote a little
tutorial for how to install it:
https://github.com/coldfix/udiskie/wiki/Ubuntu-Debian-installation-guide
I think it does what I would like to do.

But of course if there is a low-level way to interact with directly with
udisks that is smaller and lighter I'd like to check it out.

For most distros you have something like Nautilus, Thunar, PcManFM (not
sure if KDE uses the filemanager for this or not) that do this
automatically.
I may simply include PcManFM instead of Rox-Filer since it is already
pretty robust, and lightweight.
But I was hoping to use the smallest programs possible for this.
