Take a look at http://ubuntu-us.org/ for some ideas if you like.  I just
glanced at the Ohio team's page and think it looks quite nice.  (But don't
let competing with them stop you from whatever changes you already had in
mind.)

BTW, I heard back from Alex, who setup the ubuntuok.com page, and his
intention was to start the Oklahoma team, but he has been too limited on
time so far.  Sounds familiar, huh! ;-) He graciously offered the use of the
site if we wanted.
