[Ubuntu-us-ok] Promoting Ubuntu in Bartlesville area and new member of Ubuntu-Oklahoma.

Hello everyone in the Ubuntu-Oklahoma Group.

First, it is great to be able to be part of a MS replacement option hat
is very user friendly in most aspects without the Blue Screen of
Death !! Ubuntu is awesome and we are willing to help others get it
installed and help spread the word.... about Ubuntu.

Second, I had a chance last night to IRC with Trey about wanting to
suggest the group work in local beak-out meetups all over the state and
to send the following email to form meetups using Skype .... so here
goes.

I and a few others here in Bartlesville are very excited about learning
more about Ubuntu and getting others to make the switch. Who in the
group would be willing to meetup using the FREE Skype Phone PC-2-PC
service ? We would like to discuss how to best go forward with getting
others involved in "a Big Way" in each major area of Oklahoma to start.
All it takes is 2 people in each town to promote Ubuntu and a few hours
a week.

We are currently developing the following systems to help others get
Ubuntu installed in Oklahoma:

-A Community Server Ubuntu Information and public registration site at
http://www.LinOP.com ;

-An online Radio system we can use for Ubuntu exposure.  Here is two
examples of our Radio Sites http://www.RadioPhillips.com and
http://www.RadioBartlesville.com 

-Ordering Bulk CD's and DVD's to mass produce (for minimal charge) the
various Ubuntu editions;

-A Project Management Tracking System to allow others to make software
recommendations and suggestions to help us and others to create custom
PDF's and ebooks for easy learning concerning installation and package
management for Ubuntu as there is not very much "complete easy context"
information online at this time. We are using TaskHopper under the
Joomla Content Management System. Here is our first document.

This is just the start and we are hopeful others can give a few hours a
week in helping to spread the word in there own way as well. It will
also take some considerable action on all group members prior to being
approved by the Ubuntu Team Council.
