------------WHAT IS HAPPENING THIS WEEKEND------------
The Ohio LinuxFest has a lot going on this weekend beyond the traditional 3
talks and expo. Read on to make sure you do not miss out on all of the fun!
Tonight at 7pm to 10pm we will have a welcome reception for anyone who is in
town. There will be pizza and other refreshments in the Drury Inn & Suites
Columbus Convention Center conference room in the lobby. Beat the lines on
Saturday morning and check in early.
Friday during the day we will have a training program called "OLFU." Here we
will have smaller talks for more personal attention. Classes topics include LPI
Cram, Anti-Spam, Disaster Recovery, Documentation, and Storage. Registration for
this program is available on site at the Greater Columbus Convention Center or
online. Upgrades for those who are already registered for the Ohio LinuxFest is
availble online. For more
information, visit the OLFU website
http://www.ohiolinux.org/olfu.html
Friday night starting at 6pm, the Ohio LinuxFest "pre-party" will also be a
FARK.com party and a social gathering of the Linux Link Tech Show
podcast. The location will be Barley's Brewhouse which is just across the
street for the convention center. Refreshment tickets will be available first
come first serve. This event is sponsored by Pantek, an Open Source consulting
company of Cleveland, Ohio.
Saturday at 8am the Expo opens at 8am. Get there early to make sure you
have plenty of time to check in. Stay and enjoy the expo and coffee. The
keynote will start at 9am. After the keynote, there will be three tracks
of talks on the Silicon Mechanics, Google, and Linux International
ballrooms. These talks are on the speakers page:
http://www.ohiolinux.org/speakers.html. The fourth track is the Open
Source Solutions stage which just around the corner
from the expo area. The talks there are on the Open Source Solutions page:
http://www.ohiolinux.org/osss.html.
Saturday at 8pm to 12am the afterparty will be at Hyatt Recency Columbus
in the Union ballroom. This is the ballroom on the other side of the
bridge when you are coming from the convention center. Join us for
refreshments, hot food, and desert sponsored by Google. Entertainment will be
arranged by Notacon.
Sunday at 1pm and 3:30pm we will have two testing opportunities for LPI
tests (level one, level two and Ubuntu). These tests will be at a discount for
Ohio LinuxFest attendees. The test site is Drury Inn & Suites Columbus
Convention Center conference room in the lobby. See Don Corbet at the LPI booth
on Saturday for more information or visit the LPI website:
