UbuntuOhio gateway apps and such

Very much relevant.

I see that edubuntu is going to a two-disk distro, one being the 
standard Live CD/installer and the other being a collection of 
education-relevant FOSS. The thinking is that many of those users might 
otherwise not have easy access to the apps that make the edubuntu distro 
useful to them, either through not knowing how to find & install the 
software or due to limited connectivity.

I don't know that we want to consider that for the CD's to go to the 
libraries (where to start???), but there is much to be said for making 
it easier to find apps to start with. (That, incidentally, is why I 
prefer synaptic to adept to apt-get, although I use all three. 
Synaptic's organization makes it easier to look for interesting apps. 
Yes, I'm a n00b, but that's how I learn...) Once they're hooked and 
comfortable, then you can sic'em on to Stallman. ;=)
