This sounds like a really great opportunity, indeed. I would love it
if more universities, colleges, libraries et al could host classes
like this. Please keep us posted on your class progress, including
any stumbling blocks you encounter along the way. If you feel that
you end up with a fairly solid curriculum, it would be wonderful to
publish it on the Wiki (even if someone's already at work on this.)
I'm of the belief that Moodle still has a place in all of this, but
it's an odd niche that lives somewhere between Face-to-Face
(LoCo-level) and from a distance (Forum,IRC,Wiki,etc.) ... then
there's the fact that most of our fledgling Ubuntu converts are former
(novice) Windows users and may not immediately think "Oh yeah! .. if
something isn't working, I can always get on the Forum and ... "
These are the candidates that I think are due for some Moodle-izing.
