I'm copying this out of the manual from Ubuntu 7.04, so I apologize if it
looks weird or corrupted.

The movie players provided with Ubuntu are capable of reading DVDs that are
> not encrypted; encrypted DVD support is not available by default in Ubuntu
> due to legal restrictions surrounding the DVD format. However, it is
