You can't really "find" your old password if you have forgotten it. You
should be able to do:
sudo passwd 'username'
give the sudo password
set new password for the account in question.
Here is an example:
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
shawn at lamp:~$ sudo passwd jason
Password:
Enter new UNIX password:
Retype new UNIX password:
passwd: password updated successfully
shawn at lamp:~$
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
