Hi!
My name is David Krings from Schenectady and I write this from a working
Linux system. So far so good - or not. It is Fedora 7 and I\'m quite
unhappy with it, mainly because it is so difficult to obtain
applications (slow connections to repositories, only non 64bit
rpms, ....).
I usually use Ubuntu, but Ubuntu is fakeraid unaware and the fakeraid
howtos just confuse me more than they help. The troublespot is usually
Grub, as it is a bit dumb and very user-unfriendly. The reason why I use
Fedora is that Fedora does know the nVidia SATA FakeRAID and has the
dmraid support right out of the box, which it seems Ubuntu 7.10 still
does not have, which is really beyong my comprehension.
Enough of the whining and down to what I really want. I want Ubuntu, on
my fakeraid, as a triple boot with XP64bit and XP32bit. I know I could
wipe the whole drive and just use Ubuntu with a software RAID, but
although I am ready for that, the many hardware vendors and Linux
distros aren\'t.
Anyh ow, is there any chance to get some help in getting this going?
Someone who doesn\'t mind an email and tells me once in a while what an
idiot I am for being too stupid to follow cryptic directions?
I just need this push over the cliff and hope that someone can assist.
Many thanks in advance.

David
