[NYLoCo] Gutsy preview

Is the slowdown KDE specific?  Did anyone who's running the Gnome 
version have the same problem?  Everything on mine was slow because I 
was testing it inside a VM on an old laptop, so I didn't notice any 
out-of-the-ordinary slowness.
