<div dir="ltr">I agree Zoneminder is the way to go. Now as to your project as a whole. <br><br>It does not sound like to really need to run LDAP. You could just get away with SAMBA local authentication if that is all you need. Next, you state that this server will hold critical data but you don't seem to plan on using any kind of raid for fault tolerance, I'd reconsider this. <br>
<br>I'd also think about using rsync via ssh for file synchronization. That way you would not need to mount up a smb share to a local folder. Also rsync over ssh would also allow you to sync your files remotely, if you open a port for remote access.... something other than ssh 22. <br>
