I would like to suggest not running the 64 bit version. Move to the 32bit. The reason is that the 64bit is more of a special usage. Compiling, video editing, or running boinc services. Many "toy" applications will not be fully developed for the 64bit platform yet.

With the 32bit the Windows emulator and media tools have been tested more.

On Feb 14, 2008 7:08 AM, <DThomas@metrocourt.state.nm.us> wrote:
Thanks in advance for the assistance. I currently have Vista on my laptop.
I don't want Vista. I just don't like it. I really want to get away from
Microsoft and go totally to Linux Ubuntu. I created the CD from the iso
file and I checked the install CD and no errors. I'm trying to install
the 64 bit version 7.10, but I'm getting the HAL Status 13 message. If
anyone needs output like using 'dmesg', let me know how to get this for
you for troubleshooting and I will.

Let me know if you need more info.
Thanks again for the assistance.
