[ubuntu-us-nm] Help with MySQL

I need help with very simple functionality... how to create users and 
databases.  How to change user and database passwords.

The MySQL documentation makes go sense to me.  When I do a search for 
examples, every writer has a different way of doing all this and when I 
try their fixes, I get error messages.
