Answer 1:  Yes, if the Mac in question is one of the Intel based Macs you
can dual boot OSX and Ubuntu just fine. I was doing this for a while on my
MacBook. Here's a little how to...


Answer 2:  OpenOffice is cross platform meaning that there are versions for
Windows, Linux, Solaris, and OSX.
