Hello all,
I am interested in getting suggestions and testimonies as to the best open
source Content Management System
(CMS)<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Content_management_system>to
implement for
EPC <http://www.endorphinpower.org/>. I have been looking into them and the
two that keep coming up as mature and vastly extended are
Joomla<http://www.joomla.org/>and
Drupal <http://drupal.org/>. Personally I am leaning toward Joomla, but I
would really like to hear from those who have gone before.
My intention is to set up as interactive a site as I possibly can for
EPC<http://www.endorphinpower.org/>.
I want it to approach SaaS<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_as_a_Service>.
Several key features we require are multi-user everything (not literaly, but
most features would be best implemented as multi-user), calendars, blogs,
wikis, self-service info, event maintenance and scheduling, data collection,
and the whole world (just kidding about the whole world :).
Please note that I have implemented NMLoco's graceously donated Dell
PowerEdge 4400 as an ubuntu 8.1 server. It has 2GB of memory and about 360GB
of hdd space - only a small portion allocated to date. I would like to use
it as a development box. Since the load would be tiny as "just" a dev box,
we may use it for other purpose, too. I setup *gnump3d* Media Streaming last
weekend. It works nicely.
