Simple fix...

Install laptop-mode-tools

sudo apt-get laptop-mode-tools

Open: /etc/laptop-mode/laptop-mode.conf

sudo nano /etc/laptop-mode/laptop-mode.conf

and change

CONTROL_HD_POWERMGMT=0

to

CONTROL_HD_POWERMGMT=1
