Hello Yosef

I am a new member, and I think you would get quicker results if
you asked your question at www.ubuntuforums.org there are thousands
and thousands of users there that read and answer posts every day. People
teach each other and help each other there every day.

You might try the suggestion that Mike just sent you, to reload the 10.04
version. If you have documents and other data on the hard disk that you
haven't backed up, then that might be a problem if you can't get to your
data. But if you DO have your stuff backed up, then do a reinstall of the
Ubuntu you have, or try a live cd of the more recent version of Ubuntu.

Good luck
