My kids are teenagers now - I can't remember off the top of my head which
programs we used for typing and such. However have you looked at Edubuntu?
We set our kids up with gmail accounts when they started using email.

My kids are loving Lucid hope your daughter will too. I'll follow up as I

Just me Amber.
There are lots of Linux users who don't care how the kernel works, but only
want to use it. That is a tribute to how good Linux is.
