[ubuntu-us-nc] Freenode IRC Problems

Follow steps 1 through 3 on http://freenode.net/faq.shtml#nicksetup
then on step 4, pidgin uses a number, not an underscore for an alternate
nick
so if you want to use step 4 (a very good idea) instead of with the nick
foo, the alt nick is gonna be foo1
then down to step 6 for pidgin, goto accounts, then edit your freenode
account, in the password area, put your new password
(step 5 is only for older versions of xchat, never seen one old enough for
that step yet, step 7 is automated in pidgin as long as the above was done)

also, you need to use your real email address, memoserv sends messages &
other freenode services use it too.
also you'll get an email with a string that needs to be copied from that
email to a freenode window to activate the account

(I'll see if I can be a help of other irc clients too, also these steps work
for finch as well. I thought this might be useful since up till karmic,
pidgin has been the default client for a fair amount of time)
