I only have x86_64 installed. So I can only speak for that.

The battery level is detected correctly and the warning for the critical
battery level is displayed. Only the action that is defined for that case is
not triggered.
As a matter of fact all battery levels (charging, discharging, full, low,
critical) are detected correctly (except missing the battery completely
after suspend).
