Perhaps someone on the list would correct me if I'm wrong but the only reasons I can think of is nobody thought to put the time and effort into doing it, and nobody else requested it.<br>

That said: what in particular didn't you like about the archive format? I'll admit I haven't used gmane much and have taken GNUMailman's archive format with all applicable warts and all.<br>
