[ubuntu-us-mi] Glitches with 22.04

On an older BIOS-based system I've noticed that Firefox seems slower than
20.04 (Xubuntu), probably because of the Snap.
I did reinstall 22.04 multiple times because of Ubiquity not supporting
RAID. It's always a fight and I have to manually reinstall Grub from the
live DVD. Maybe I should downgrade to Mandrake 9 which could do it
correctly.
My only serious problem was a complete system lock-up due to a Realtek
RTL-8185 PCI WiFi card. Bus error and a kernel panic (divide error, fatal
exception in interrupt, etc.) whenever the card was used. This started on
20.04 with a recent kernel update which resulted in the OS being trashed
after multiple occurrences. So I started over with a new 22.04 install
(which had the same problem). I had to switch to a USB WiFi dongle. I
probably should file a bug report about it.
Wildly inexplicable errors are often due to hardware problems. Check RAM
and drive SMART status.
Also try to narrow down the problem with a test of 21.04 and 22.10 or a
different variant (Kubuntu, etc.)
