[Event Announcement]

Just when you were getting cozy with all the cold wintery Michigan
weather it is time to venture out and heat up the Ubuntu bug tracker!

(ok, sorry, no more opening lines like that, I promise)

The next Global Bug Jam is this month and the Michigan LoCo is going
to rock it hard this time (again!) and have a meet up on February 21st
(Saturday) from 2pm - 6pm. We will be meeting at the Clinton-Macomb
Public Library. Afterwards there will most likely be a get together
at a local pub and/or restaurant. Easy copy/paste details below.

--What is a Bug Jam?--
A Bug Jam is when a group of people get together, physically, and
learn how to triage bugs in Ubuntu, fix bugs in Ubuntu, or some
combination of the two. Basically, we will be learning from each
other with guidance from a couple of local "experts." For more
information check out the wiki page about the Global Bug Jam[0]

--Do I need to prepare for the Bug Jam?--
You do need to prepare, but just a little. First, since we will be
working on Ubuntu bugs you should have an account on Launchpad[1].
This will allow you to add comments to bugs, confirm them, and triage
them.

Second, if you want to participate in the 5-a-day program (highly
encouraged!) you should set your SSH key in Launchpad. You can follow
the instructions on the 5-a-day Automatic Reporting page[2]. Be sure
to set which LoCo team you are in (ubuntu-michigan)! The most
important part is to get your SSH key and 5-a-day installed before you
get to the Jam.

Third, bring your laptop if you have one/can. We'll use the wireless
at the library. To gain access to the library wifi you need to get a
day pass, so come a few minutes early so we can get that out of the
way for everyone.

If you have any questions about the above, don't hesitate to send an
email to the list or join us in #ubuntu-us-mi on IRC[3].

--Bring Your Friends!--
This is not a closed group thing; bring anyone who you think might be
interested in participating or learning more about how the Ubuntu
community works. If you have a blog, let others know you are coming.
If you use twitter/identi.ca, let your followers know. The more
people who attend the more bugs we'll touch and the LoCo will look
awesome! I mean, Ubuntu will that much higher quality.
