Howdy list,

Well, I just joined up for the Maryland Loco team and thought I should
introduce myself.

My name, as you might guess from the email address, is Drew Jensen.

I reside in the best part of our fine state, the western part :),
Cumberland to be precise.

I'm an IT survivor (former SE) and escapee from Montgomery County - been
up here in the hills for 8 years or so.

Have been using Ubuntu for, can't say how long exactly, more then a few
years. Figured it's long past due that I start giving back some to the
community.

Otherwise, I'm active in a couple of other OSS projects:

Serve on the membership committee for The Document Foundation,
(LibreOffice).

Member of the Poddling Project Management Committee (damn thats a
mouthful) for the Apache OpenOffice project.
[have been active in the old OpenOffice.org project since a bit before
the 2.0 release]

..and dabble a little bit here and there in a few others.

So - not sure how often I could make it for meetings in the Baltimore
area, will try to make it when I can. I am hoping to stir up a little
interest here in the western regions.

I am planning on putting together a Global Jam event for next weekend
here - not sure on the location and time, will try to have that figured
out before the weekend is over. (perhaps should start a new email thread
for this)

Also planning a lunch time (Brown bag event) in the main library here in
Cumberland for Document Freedom Day on March 28th, where I'll be
discussing the Open Document Format standard and the new work starting
at Oasis on a standard format for legal documentation.

I guess that's about it for an intro - I'm looking forward to meeting
you all, both via emails/net and hopefully in person before too long.

Best wishes,

Drew
