Vista and Samba Question

I had found that post a couple days ago and changed the Vista machine 
setting per the post. It connected to the secured samba share but not 
the user's home share on the samba server. Later in the day, it 
disconnected and we were not able to re-connect. It will connect to the 
public shares without any problems so it is definitely an authentication 
issue. The Vista box is not in my office so I don't have immediate 
access to it to try possible fixes.
I am also using Samba 3.0.22 which is the latest in the dapper repository.
