As John says, the target audience is the home user. I think going into
the details of Samba, Cups, etc is a bit overkill.
However if someone wanted to do a presentation on home networking
options using F/OSS that would be appropriate. Something like a talk on
FreeNAS, IPCop, MythTV (media server), etc would be in line. Either as a
single talk or overall grouping.
It might also be interesting to have a talk on home/small businesses
that use F/OSS in their infrastructure and how it has helped costs and
interaction with 'the rest of the world'.
Speaking of the last point, I've asked Amy at the library if she would
be willing to give a talk on the libraries use of F/OSS and she said
that she'd be happy to. I've also added the library's Open Source blog
to our planet site.
