Hey guys,
I have 2 items that I would like to discuss, either at the meeting, or on this list.

1) Expanding my geek-dev knowledge: I've made a couple attempts to learn packaging and RAD (ie GLADE) technology. So far, I run into obstacles, and put it aside. I would like to learn anything related to Ubuntu development. It would be nice to do it with other people if there are interested folks. So, I was wondering if there could be hacking meetups/components to this LoCO?
Also, I thought someone mentioned learning about server management technologies. Did that happen, can I join?

2) The school stuff: My brother is studying to be a k-12 educator of some sort, and he is newly converted to Ubuntu. He originally got hooked because it was easier to watch pirated movies with it, but I think he has started to like it in general. He asks me about options for educational software, and I don't know what to tell him. I've seen seeing little blurbs about you guys trying to get into the education sector, but I didn't see anything on the website on what you guys have done. Have you made any software selections and/or evaluations?

So those are my questions, kinda shooting from the hip so to speak. I probably won't attend the meeting, unless its important that I do (I haven't been anyway, because transportation was an issue, but I just moved into Somerville). I have a class that I've signed up for, for the next 2 months on Thursday evenings. I can totally skip it, I won't loose any money or miss much. But, it would be nice to know how productive my attendence will be before I make that decision.

Anyway, happy Jaunty Jackalopes everyone!
Dan

On Thu, Apr 23, 2009 at 6:20 PM, Martin Owens <doctormo@gmail.com> wrote:
