Hello All,

I am new to your newsletters and have not been able to attend the meeting due to work schedules. If you are stuck I am sure I can get access to 1 of our many labs at the Wilmington High School. Wilmington High is right off 93.
I heard back from MIT's user group support people. They tell me
a user group needs an MIT sponsor in order to request rooms,
and that sponsors must be either MIT staff members or MIT alumni.
Is anyone in the Ubuntu group an MIT alumnus?
Thanks Chrystal,

Although I don't mind people choosing Apple Macs, although getting
Ubuntu installed on them as a dual boot is a good idea ;-) choice and
all that.

I installed it under parallels the other day, ran great.
The BPL would be a fun good place to get, no harm in asking. Has anyone
phoned and asked a human being yet?
Well I'm thinking there might be a few employees there who aren't too
keen on all this 'asset maximisation' strategy we know as proprietary
closed source software.

But then again, it really is against their corperate culture, this is
the company that stood behind the big shift from academic sharing, to
closed off boxed products in software when this was all kicking off.

Even if a majority of employees wanted to, they'd have to get rid of
most of their upper management and share holders before they could turn
that kind of mindset around.

Anyway, enough of that. Invite the folks at the Microsoft lab to our
Release Party, I still do want the chance to talk.

Best Regards, Martin Owens
