I was talking with a client of mine that is an event planner. We started talking about the LoCo, and a few ideas. Without making this email too long, a few thoughts came up to email out to everyone.

One was the right location for the event. Where do we usually do something like the Exploration? Is there a standard place for ones in the past?

Another was what is the audience we're trying to reach? He suggested that knowing that would help in multiple influences for location and PR.

Last thought was date. The holidays will make things busy for people and he wasn't sure people wouldn't be busy with visiting or holiday shopping. If we wait till April or May, we'll have plenty of time. Anyone have thoughts?

partly. we haven't got the publicity thing down so that it's both easy
and massively effective, so doing two events in the same period would
be a stretch unless we leveraged thePR.

as i understand it, we keep scheduling an Exploration/installfest N
months in advance to be proactive but forgetting when the next release
is. having a xplobuntu just before release is anticlimactic or worse
a temptation to install Beta for people who shouldn't be on Beta.

having a explorabuntu scheduled soon after the release party would be
good, especially so we can try to co promote.
