[ubuntu-us-ma] Oneiric Release

Hi all.

So far I am unclear what upgrading to Oneiric has brought me, outside
of the ability to run Gnome-shell. I have a Lenovo t410s with
switchable graphics. I've given up being able to use the dedicated
graphics chipset, and use the i915 instead. i915 isn't sufficient to
run Unity proper, and while I was running Unity-2d in 11.04, I was
only able to get it to launch successfully 1/3 of the time. Otherwise
I would have to try to relaunch it from the terminal multiple times
until hopefully I would get the top and left panel.

Gnome-shell, so far, has been great. It's a new/modern minimal
interface, only taking up the top row of my screen (and no pop-over
bar when I get an IM, yay!). I'm really impressed with the
notification system. It needs a bit of work, it is inconsistent with
the rest of the desktop experience in what it responds to, but
otherwise is a +1.

I'm planning on rebuilding a computer lab of ~1.8ghz & 512mb computers
with Ubuntu in the next couple of weeks. But with the Unity push,
does Ubuntu still support that old of machine?
