Sometimes it only takes some time for your local network to update their
local DNS cache(if you're not running your own DNS server). I have also
seen this caused by the local "master browser" being taken offline and
the rest of the machines working out their browser elections. It's
possible your FreeNAS server, if you had samba running, became the
master browser for the network and is now missing, causing the rest of
the machines to be stuck to work out who will take over. In the
meantime, nobody is indexing and broadcasting the local hostnames.
Ideally this should all resolve itself within a matter of hours.
