[ubuntu-us-ma] update management

That stuff references the things in "/etc/apt/sources.list", among other places in "/etc/apt/".  Not sure where the keys go when you add ppas.  

My update process is fully manual.  Too often, I've had automatic updates break something, usually accessibility.  Update-manager is an easy way to be selective.
