Not quite

If you publish something that is GPL that you did not write and you sell
it, then anyone (not just the seller) can ask for the source code
without having to pay any cost at all, since price is a barrier. Of
course you can sell the same code in easy to use binaries, cds or
galactic punes.

There is no free as in beer in the FOSS world, it's free as in "someone
already paid for this beer, they got the round in"
