[ubuntu-us-ma] should i upgrade to jaunty?

I wrote a pair of scripts that use tar (actually python's tar & bz2
libraries) and rsync.  I am unusual in this no doubt.  I don't bother
with incremental backups.  Also, I keep the disk completely unplugged
to help protect it from power surges.
