[ubuntu-us-ma] Star trek

With a new rollout of Ubuntu just released I really think the talk should be on this product not Star Trek. I keep getting numerous volumes sent to my email and hope to read tech findings on 9.04. All I am reading about is the meeting place or which bus to take to see the movie. Enough already!! Please take me off the mailing list and I will find some true techies on Ubuntu. This is a waste of my time!!

I am advising people to buy their tickets on line soon very soon for the 7pm show on May 13! Don't get left out alone in the parking lot...or worse in a huge furniture store

Hey Doc,

the xorg conf is meant to be empty, it's mostly generated on the fly
these days.

It sounds like the xrandr can't get your monitor specs, so I hope you
have them to hand. You can either repair the link between your video
card and monitor (in order to enable i2c/ddc) or manually put the
details into xorg conf and wire everything up yourself.

I'd go for getting the drivers for your video card right, what are they?

Regards, Martin Owens

Yea, I saw that, but I expected SOMETHING there. I'm not sure where
else that data would be kept.

Never used the program before, but I agree with you, yes.

Ummmmm. :-( It's an on-board video circuit going to an Envision
multisync monitor. :-\

At this point I'm assuming I can use the vesa driver.

Unless anyone else comes up with some particular ideas I'm first going
to see if I can install 8.04 on it. If that doesn't work, I'll
reinstall Fedora 10 on it and see what kind of data I can get from
that installation before trying Ubuntu again.
